PEOPLE'S MOVEMENT

DISSOLVED IN BRITAIN (9 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 15. Mr W. J. Brown, Captain A. S. Cunningham Reid, and Mr E. Granville, M.P.’s, have jointly issued a statement annouhcing that the People’s Movement has been dissolved. The movement was formed in an attempt to diminish the excessive and dangerous power of the party caucuses of both sides of the House of Commons, more especially to fight for the right of independent candidates and to challenge party caucases at by-elections. This second object has now been largely achieved and the promoters now desire to devote themselves to questions of public policy.
