PROBATIONERS IN ARMY
“Many persons on probation appear to think that military service absolves them from the necessity of reporting to the probation officer,” said Mr. C. E. Maxted, assistant probation officer, when a Maori soldier appeared for failing to report before Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., in Auckland. The man concerned went into camp shortly after being admitted to probation and had not reported, Although he was in camp close to Auckland. The officer said that men were still required- to report, no matter what they might be told by others in the camp.
