OBITUARY
MR. R. D. ROGERS The death occurred, in Hastings at the week-end of Mr. Reginald Dixort Rogers, a well-known figure in the communities of both, Napier ancl Hastings. * Born at Lathbury, Buckingham--shire. 62 years ago, Mtf.-.Rogers came to New Zealand with his, parents aj; a young man and k sotjed in Taranaki-, where he was engaged in farming and live stock, business. Before and during the lask wr, he was one of the best knoty-n- dealers in live stock in New- Zealand, having his headf quarters at Feilding. In 1920’ he became manager of Nelson’s (N.Z. Limited, in Hawke’s Bay and Poverty Bay, and- he moved tb -Auckland ir. 1925, to become New Zealand manager of W. and lit -Fletcher 1 * (-iff.#.)' Limited He retired from this position owint to ill-health in 1938, returning tc reside in Hawke’s Bay, Since th< death of Mr. J. S’. McLeod, in 1939 Mr. Rogers has b.een, the managing director of Messrs, de Pellchet.McLeoi. and Co., Limited, at Hastings. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. F. S. Gordon, Culver*, den, and two son's, Messrs. R. Fox Rogers, Poiikawa, ancl SCeond-Lieutf. D. Fox Rogers, who is with the New Zealand Forces. -
