Major C. N. Devery, D.C.M., has assumed command of the 2nd Battalion, Hawke’s Bay Regiment. Mr. J. W. Fergie, stationmaster-in-charge, Gisborne, left to-day for Wellington on departmental business. He expects to be absent for a few days.
