DEATH ON DUTY

HOME GUARD OFFICER LAST WAR VETERAN (P.A.) ASHBURTON, this day. Mr. James Marshall Arnold, a wellknown farmer, of Lagmhor, aged 79, collapsed and died on Saturday while on duty with the local unit of the Home Guard, of which he was commander. Mr. Arnold served for three years in the Great War as a lieutenant, and was discharged suffering from shellshock. A son and two daughters who were nurses also served .in the Great War. A son and three daughters survive.
