Military commentators warn Britons to expect an intensification of the war to follow Herr Hitler’s assumption of the supreme command of the German vfar machine. They agree that the plight of Germany’s eastern army has driven Hitler to extreme measures, but point out that the Fuehrer apparently still believes that a Nazi victory is possible and is ready to stake everything —his reputation and even his own life—on a new military adventure.
