The chief results at the Boxing Day races at Randwick were:—■ Chisholm Handicap; Cl furlongs.—Broadcaster, 9.0 (Shenn), 1 ; Merrimba, 9.6 (McAlcnamin), 2; Telasur, 9.10 (Munro), 3. Nine started. A head; a neck. Time. 1.23,1. This was Broadcaster’s first win for two years. Summer Cup: 11 miles.—Santa, 7.4 (Knox). 1; Buzalong, 8.18 (McMenamin), 2; Griindfils, 7.2 ' (Gollogly), 3. Eoourteen started. Serenata was scratched. Santa led from start to finish and won by half a length, with (irandlils li lengths away third. Yours Truly was seventh. Time, 2.461. Patrician won the Christmas Trial Handicap. / Excitement prevailed when a grass fire ,wept across the back country and delayed the start of the Wilton Park Handicap, necessitating the remainder of the races oeing run over part of a hitherto unused lection of the track. Firemen controlled the outbreak after a large part of the running track had been burnt. Minor damage was done to the fencing. FLEMINGTON RACES (Reed. Dec. 27, 9 a.m.) MELBOURNE. Dec. 27. The chief results of the races at Fleming,.on yesterday were:— Hopctoun Handicap; 1 mile and 3 furlongs. —Elanage, 8.2 (Smith), 1; Togo, 7.12 (Parted), 2; Portfolio, 7.6 (Bailey), 3. Twelve started. A neck; a head. Time, 2.35. Elanage had not won hitherto for four years. Christmas Handicap: 6 furlongs.—Ort'eli, 8.2 (Mornemont), 1; Law Student, 7.6 (Gilmore), 2; Clmtsbury, 8.8 (Breasioy), 3. Eleven started. A head: half a length. Time, .1.12.
