PETROL STOPPED
RACEHORSE TRANSPORT (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this Jay. It has been decided in view of the present war situation that petrol can no longer be made available for the transport of racehorses either by public carriers or in pri-vately-owned horse floats. This advice was received on Saturday by the secretary of the New Zealand Racing Conference. Mr. A. M. Mcßeath, from the Commissioner of Transport, Mr. G. L. Lauretison. "I appreciate that thiß will mean a considerable readjustment in the racing world, but in view of the present circumstances this action is unavoidable," stated the commissioner.
