Greyhound Racing

The annual meeting of the Gisborne Greyhound Racing and Coursing Association was held in Mr. C. L. Davy’s shop with a good attendance of members. After the report and balance sheet had been adopted, the chairman thanked those who had generously donated cash, those who assisted in keeping the track in order and running the meetings, and the press for reports on- the meetings. During the past season several owners competed at outside meetings, it was reported, Mrs. Hosier’s imported greyhound Observer being the only one to have any success, running third in the limit stakes and second in the big open race of the day at Dannevirke, and winning the open stakes at Mastings. A further meeting of the Gisborne association was fixed for Thursday of this week.
