Counted irregulars ATTACK BEATEN OFF (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 2.15 p.m. RUGBY, Oct. 29. A joint army and air communique issued at Nairobi states: “A detachment of our troops moving on the Dessie to Gondar road was attacked by enemy mounted irregulars on Saturday. After a two-hour engagement, in which grenades and light machine-guns were used, the enemy was driven off and dispersed. There was a little activity by the South African Air Force operating in the Gondar area yesterday.”
