PUHA NEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) A very successful euchre party and dance was held in the Puha Hall in' aid of the hall funds. Miss L. R-uru' supplied the music lor a large number of dancers, and an enjoyable extra was contributed by Miss NCoates. The duties of M.C.s were carried out by Messrs. L. Cameron and J. Bay ley. The winners of the euchre tournament were Mrs. Robertson and Mr. Rutenc, and Mrs. Cameron and Mr. Pratlen we -e second. It was announced that the next of the series would be held <•" August 30. A delicious supper was served by the committee Many spectators gathered at the Puha School to witness basketball and football games when Whatatutu and Puha combined to play Tc Kara!:-;. After an even game of football. Whatatutu-Puha beat Tc Karaka by 14 points to 11. In the A basketball matches Te Karaka won with a score of 13—one. Puha-Whatatutu L learn beat Te Karaka by 13 goals w eight. A delicious afternoon tea was served. Mr. and Mrs. Edah, who are or holiday from flic South Island, arc the guests of Mr. and Mrs. McG. Robertson.—Private A. Pralten has been the guest of hi* aunt, Mrs. G. Scfton, Puha.—Miss K. Cameron. Wellington. is spending her school vacation with her parents, Mi-, and Mrs. G. A. Cameron, Puha.
