HOME GUARD UNITS
THE WEEK'S PARADES TRAINING PROGRESS EXTENSIVE SYLLABUS A comprehensive range of instruci tion is represented in the syllabus laid down for units of the Gisborne Borough Battalion of the Home Guard for the current week. Most units will narnde twice, on Wednesday night and during the week-end, and lectures and demonstrations by officers and noncommissioned officers who recently attended C.D.S.I. courses will be included in the instruction. Staff sergeants and company medalists will assist in the demonstrations the chief of which, for the week-end will be in wiring construction. This demonstration has been arranged by B Company, with battalion assistance, for Sunday morning at the Victoria Domain. Parade fixtures for the week are:— Wednesday, August 20. —A Company, at Allen Bros, and Johnstone’s car park, at 7.30 p.m.; B Company, at Dalgety’s woolstore, at -7.30 p.m.; C Company, at Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ store, at 7.30 p.m.; E Company, at Sargood’s buildings, at 7.30 p.m.; Band, at Military Band room, at 7.30 p.m.; ■ eers’ Company, at Intermediate School, at 7.30 p.m.; Medical section, at Central School, at 7.30 p.m.; Signals Section, at High School, at 7.-30 p.m.; Motor-Cycle Section, at High School, »t 7 p.m.; Bowser Section, at Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ store, at 7.30 p.m. Thursday, August 21.—D Company N.C.O.’s, at Williams and Kettle's store, at 7 p.m. Sunday, August 24.—A Company, at Q.M. Stores, Peel street, at 9 a.m.; B Company at Victoria Domain, at 9 a.m. (if wet at Dalgety’s woolstore); D Company, at Sargood’s buildings, at 8.30 a.m.; E Company, at Awapuni and Stanley roads at 9 a.m.; Engineers Company at corner of Awapuni and Stanley roads, at 9 a.m.; Transport Company, at Childers Road Reserve, at 9 a.m.
