BRITAIN ACCUSED DEMANDS ON THAILAND (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Aug. 13, 11.50 a.m.) SINGAPORE, Aug. 17. The British Commander-in-Chief in the Far East, Air-Marshal Sir Robert Brooke-Pcpham, declared in a statement: “Rumours emanating from Japan that we have threatened Thailand with the use of force represents a typical flight of fancy, and I deny it emphatically. There is not an atom of truth in it. “I endorse the statement by Sir Josiah Crosby, tiie British Minister in Thailand, yesterday, that we have made no demands whatever on the Government of Thailand.”
