U-BOATS KEPT OUT
AMERICAN PATROL ZONE (Reed. Aug. 18. 9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Aug. l(i. The Secretary of the United States Navy, Colonel Frank Knox, said that since the United States patrol went into effect between America and Iceland, the sinking of supplies for Britain had ceased entirely in the zone. Not a submarine had been heard 'nor an Axis flag seen in the patrol area.
