CHALLENGE MATCHES
SATURDAY’S BASKETBALL SENIOR POINTS SCHEDULE Four challenge .matches between Senior A Grade teams were the main feature of the basketball games played in Gisborne on Saturday. Competition matches were played in the B Grade and junior sections. Results were:— Challenge Matches.—Public Service 19. Tuis 11; Marathon 9, Huia 7; St. Mary’s A 11, Mangapapa 4; H.S.O.G. A 1 16, High School A 10. B Grade.—St. Mary’s B 1 28, Rau Aroha B 8; Cash Stores 19, Rata 2; St. Mary’s B2 17, Nurses B 9; H.S.O.G. B 17, Eastwoods 16. Junior Grade.—Ayton House 19, Mangapapa C 6; Ayton House .19, St. Mary's G 3 13; St. Mary’s Cl 22, High School G 26; St. Mary’s 02 15, High School Cl 14; St. Mary’s Cl 14, *St. Mary’s C 3 4; Mangapapa C defaulted to Rau Aroha C. The points schedule for the Senior A Grade basketball games show that the H.S.O.G. A 1 team have been the most successful this season, winning all of the 1U games that they played. The games played, won, lost, drawn and the points scored by the 11 teams in this competition are as follows:
