FIRST DIVISION MEN
FAILURE TO REGISTER FINES IN WHAKATANE Three men who failed to register with the First Division of the General Reserve were fined by Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court in Whakatanc on Tuesday, the highest of the lines being £ls, v/hile two of the employers also were fined. Eskil Elias Alexander Gillgrcn, aged 24, labourer, was fined £ls and costs 12s, and his employers, the Whakatane Paper Mills, Limited, were fined £5 and costs His, for employing a man who had failed to register. Joseph Ivan McShane, aged 28, and Archibald Miller, aged 31, were each fined £lO and costs, and the former’s employer, J. W. B : shop, was lined £3 and costs 12s.
