MANCHESTER UNITY

LOYAL GISBORNE LODGE LONG-STANDING ILLNESS At a meeting of the Manchester Unity Oddfellows’ Loyal Gisborne Lodge, COB 7, last night, it was reported by the secretary, Mr, C. H. Ambridge. P.D.G.M., that 20 members were at present on the sick list. Of these 10 members had been on the sick list for long periods ranging from two years up to about the time of the last war, and payments to them totalled £2GO a year. Four members from outside lodges were also on the sick funds, while of the six others in the total of 20 some were cases of long-standing illness. It was suggested that arrangements should be made to supply parcels for soldier members, and the proposal was referred to the social committee for a report. It was decided to hold an initiation practice on Saturday evening, following which the final selections for the indoor bowls tournament on August 20 will be announced.
