MOTU NEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting ot the Motu Ladies Guild, over which Mrs. J. Donaldson presided. The Rev. J. D. Hodgson introduced Miss M. Woods, who gave a most interesting talk on missionary work in China and accounts of some of her experiences in that country. Several pieces of beautiful symbolic work done by Chinese children were greatly admired. The pupils at the Motu School were present for the talk, at the conclusion of which Miss Woods was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames G. Henry and G. Begg. Mrs. W. J. Reed and Mrs. J. Donaldson will be hostesses at next month’s meeting. Miss Ailsa Richardson is visiting Opotiki.—Mr. and Mrs. B. Curry have been spending a holiday at Wainui Beach, Gisborne. —Mr. ancl Mrs. F. Clark are spending a holiday at Wharerata and Wnikarcmoana. —Mrs. A. Clarke has returned to Motuhora after a short stay in Gisborne. —Miss M. Jones, Napier, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. T. Parker, Motuhora.
