Celts Too Heavy For Marist The Marist hacks and forwards found the Celtic, seniors ion heavy u combination nnd after holding them to a tlirec-nil lead in the first spell worn beaten by threo unconverted tries, a converted try, and a penalty gonl to an unconverted try and a penalty goal. The tackling on both sides left much to he desired, hut the Marist hacks were overworked in attempting to stop Celtic breaking through. The outstanding players in (he Celtic pack were G. Bell. J. .Tonson, and .1. Nicholson, and in the hacks ,T. and 17. O’Rourke, E. Carrington, and C. McKinley. Pahnra. Tuhoro, nnd B. MRlone played consistently well for Marist. The scorers for Celtic were H. Rend, .T. Nicholson, E. Carrington and ,T. O'Rourke, ono try each, and Reg. McKinley, a conversion and penalty goal. Mr. H. Huntor was the referee. Good Margin in Points

Tho other senior match resulted in the defeat of H. 5.0.8. by Old Boys by 21 points to fivn. H. 5.0.8. played better this week than last and in the early stages appeared to have the better of their opponents, E. Gardner opening the scoring with a try nnd a conversion. However. Old Boys soon got going and showed a strong forward combination, which the old students were only ablo to stop with difficulty. The scorers in the first half for Old Boys were A. Campbell with a free kick and .T. Richards with a drop kick from the ball coming out of the scrum in front of tho posts. In the second half TT.5.0.8. failed (o add lo their score and Old Boyß took tho offensive, E. White scoring two tries. ,T, Barbour nnd R. Carrol! one nnrh, nnd A. Campbell converting one. The referee was Mr. A. E. Tngram. JUNIOR GRADE. Celtic, juniors had to play hard for their win over H. 5.0.8. in the main junior match, and although it was not up to tho usual standard of open back-plav it was an “allin" effort. The final score was six—three in favour of Celtic. Backs and forwards mingled together in altack and defence, but. if should not he long before the coaches have the teams settled down into open work, as distinct from tho less spectacular light play with loose rushes. Eor Celtic ■T. .Tones scored an unconverted try and R. McKinley goaled a penalty. .T. MullooTy kicked a penalty goal for H. 5.0.8., the only points, scored in the second half. Mr. A. Gnbolinscy was the referee. Tlie junior game between Old Boys nnd High School provided keen football, but the heavier Old TJovs were too much for the students, the final score, being eight-five Old Boys did all flieir scoring in the first half, P. While scoring a. trv and Taurimn converting it nnd later kicking a penalty gonl. High School rnlliod in tho second half, hut although they put. in some hnrd work it was not until a few minutes before time that Gibson was able to cross (lie Old Boys’ line. S.
