EASY WIN FOR NUHAKA TAKITIMU’S SURPRISE WIN (Herald Corespondent.) Nuhaka, last season’s championship winners; defeated Athletic by 13 points to nil :.i the Wairoa Ruixby Sub-Union’s principal senior fixture played in Nuhaka on Saturday. The name was scrappy and, for the most part, was devoid of any spectacular movements. On the day Nuhaka were definitely ~ie superior team, the backs, whenever the opportunity offered, handling the ball well. Loth the forwards and the backs combined Well, and held a territorial advantage right, throughout. The Athletic backs did not display their usual combination, and on the few occasions they did feature in rearguard movements, he opposition defence hold. Athletic, generally. did not make the most of their opportunities, the lack of backing up being a otienable feature. Nuhaka scored all their points in the first half, and, in a scoreless second half, held a erritorial advantage. Nuhaka’s first try came when, from a icrum well in Athletic territory, the ball lime out cleanly and \V. Christie, at halfback, attempted to dummy his way over the ’ine.
