GEORGE MEDAL WINNERS (British OJHeiul Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, May 29. The first person to be decorated by the King with the George Medal is Mrs. Dorothy Clarke, an ambulance driver, of Aldeburgh, Suffolk! The investiture at Buckingham Palace was the first at which,the King bestowed George Medals,' and 195 recipients of the award, including 10 women, attended. The other' nine women included a junior nurse, an air raid warden, and a supervising telephonist. Among the 185 rpen were officers and men of the three fighting services and many air raid precaution workers and firemen. At the same''investiture a soldier, a sailor, a special constable and an air raid precaution engineer were decorated with the George Cross.
