OPINION OF FARMERS \ (Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., this day Discarding a remit urging the formation of a National Government, the Farmers’ Union, at the interprovincial conference embracing the southern half of the North Island, carried an amendment stating that a general election is urgently required. Several speakers criticised the Dominion’s war effort, alleging lack ol leadership, though others deprecated any attempt to stir up political slnie in wartime.
