IN SUNKEN CRUISER?
FORMER N.Z. OFFICER COMMANDER TOTTENHAM (Par Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Paymaster-Commander E. L. Tottenham is believed by the Navy Office in Wellington to have been on board the British cruiser Fiji which was lost in operations off Crete. He succeeded Paymaster-Commander E. R'. Durman as Naval Secretary in New Zealand in June, 1935, and was relieved by Pay-master-Captain N. T. Cooper in May, 1939, when he left for England accompanied by his wife and daughter. lie joined the navy in 1913, and served during the Great War with the Grand Fleet.
