Speaking at the installation of the new Mayor, Mr. N. H. Bull, at the Gisborne Borough Council chambers last- night, the retiring' Mayor, Mr. D. W. Coleman, M.P., said that when he was defeated on a previous occasion he said he was coming back. At present, however, he could not say whether he would be offering himself for re-eleclion at the next Mayoral poll. That was in the lap of the gods.
