Maori Labourer Remanded

A Maori labourer, Maim Kaiwai, aged 20, appeared this morning before Mr. W. M. Jenkins, J.P., in the Police Court and was remanded until June 4 on a charge of breaking and entering by night last Sunday the house of Taeri Warneford Sewell, Patutahi, and stealing two watches, one wallet, a pocket knife, hat, two drivers’ licenses, a quantity of cake, and bissuits valued at £4 15s. The application for a remand was made by Detec-tive-Sergeant R. 11. Walerson, who said that Kaiwai was arrested only yesterday.
