Viaduct Reconstruction
An important task has been completed in the reconstruction of the Ormondville viaduct. One of the 130 ft. concrete piers was cracked by the 1931 earthquake, and has jiist been demolished and replaced by a new one. The work has lasted many months and passengers must have felt curious, and perhaps a little uneasy, at the slow speed to which trains were reduced when crossing the bridge.
