SHIP’S MASTER FINED CONFISCATION ORDERED (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Leslie Cecil, Boulton, aged 53, a master mariner, was fined £lO in the Police Court to-day by toe magistrate, Mr. J. L. Stout, for carrying an automatic pistol and ammunition on April 14 except for some lawful, proper and sufficient purpose. The magistrate added t.- the sentence a recommendation that he be not allowed possession of the firearm. Domestic troubles, to wnich was added the fact that his snip was recently laid up, were given by the police as the source of the incident which led to his being dispossessed of the weapon. He whs having an interview with a man named Harris, with whom his wife was living, during which he produced tne automatic from his pocket and returned it. Harris informed the police.
