BATTERED AGAIN
KIEL SHIPYARDS POWERFUL R.A.F. RAID “MORE IMPRESSIVE” FRENCH COAST SWEEPS (Klee. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 10.30 n.m. RUGBY. April 9. An Air Ministry communique describing the second successive night raid on Kiel last night states: “A very powerful force of aircraft of the Bomber Night Command resumed the attack. The weather was ideal for the observation of results. Many of the crews reported that these were even more impressive than on Monday night.
•‘Bremerhav.cn. Emden and the oil storage tanks at Rotterdam were also raided. During the night aircraft of the Fighter Command carried out offensive patrols over aerodromes on Northern France.
“From these night operations five aircraft of the Bomber Command are missing. "During daylight yesterday aircraft of the Bomber and Coastal Commands attacked shipping off the Frisian Islands and objectives in occupied territory. None of our aircraft is missing from these operations. Enemy fighters which attempted to interfere were driven off."
