TURKISH CALL-UP
TWO MORE CLASSES STILL NON-BELLIGERENT GUILTY OF ‘•OFFENCES” SIMILAR TO NEIGHBOURS (Reed. April 9, 9 a.m.) LONDON, April 8. Turkey will call up within a feudays two more army classes, but is expected still to maintain her position of non-belligerency. The Turks stale they are guilty of •‘offences” similar to those which Germany made a pretext for attacking Yugoslavia and Greece, confirming the view that the German assurances to Turkey are intended to hold good only until Germany is in a position to attack Turkey, but at present there are few troops other than Bulgarian on the Turkish-Bulgarian frontier and the Turkish Army is considered more than a match for these.
The Turkish and British general stall's are maintaining close military contact.
Yugoslav consulates throughout Turkey yesterday ordered all Yugoslavs ol military age to report within 24 hours. They were to be .sent to Greece by ship.
