BRITISH SUMMERTIME

EXTRA HOUR PROPOSED (British Official Wireless.) Reed 9 a.m. RUGBY, April 8. Under the new defence regulations, the second hour of Summertime will come into force on Sunday. May 4 and end on Sunday, August 10. As announced recently by the Home Secretary, Mr. Herbert Morrison, special provision has been made regarding agriculture b.y which the working day will remain as at present —affected by only one hour of summertime. Farm workers’ hours will he arranged accordingly except where mill; is picked up by passenger trains.
