“WHITE ELEPHANT” SALE GIFT TO ORGANISER The sum of £205 has been raised as a result of the sale of goods donated to the effort to provide clothing for bombed babies in Britain. Donations are coming in still and it is expected that this sum will be added to con siderably.
Contributions arc still being accepted from anyone who has no use for any goods in their house and it is hoped that a further large quantity of material will be sent in. Contributors should telephone No. 64 during the day and No. 1885 during the even, ing and the goods will be collected. All goods sent in will be auctioned by Mr. A. H. Banvick at his auction mart and the/ proceeds will go towards the “white elephant” sale. During the sale a teapot was bought by the iriends of Mrs. W. Oakden, the organiser, and presented to her in appreciation of the way she and her famijy had worked to make the sale such a success.
