GIRLS TEAMS
TWO FROM WAIROA NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONS SATURDAY’S SPORTS Keen interest is being taken in the patriotic sports meeting which is to be held on the Childers Road Reserve or Saturday. The main item will be the march by 12 teams of girls through Gisborne to the reserve. Sponsored b> the Gisborne Thirty Thousand Club the sports and the marching by the girls' teams are becoming an annual fixture in Gisborne. Of the 12 teams of girls representing different mercantile houses entered in the competition 10 are from Gisborne and two from Wairoa. One of the Wairoa teams, McGoldrick’s, is the present holder of the North Island championship for girls’ teams ant promises stiff opposition to the Gisborne teams.
