WAIKOHU GOLF CLUB

SUCCESSFUL YEAR ANNUAL MEETING (Herald Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the Waikohu Golf Club, held in the Parish Hall, Te Karaka, was presided over by Mr. L. H. Maclean. In his report the secretary, Mr. W. V. Luttrell, stated that the club’s sixth year had been very successful and the new links laid out had proved very satisfactory. The club was indebted to Messrs. L. H. Maclean and W. Brown for the use of their land. Though heavy expenditure had been incurred, the statement of accounts showed a credit balance. It is anticipated, however, that the present unsettled conditions will cause a drop in future revenue. Some members already have left, •>» active service, and all will be retained on the membership list without subscription during their' absence. Mr. W. V. LuttrelL hon. secretary and treasurer, who was made a life member last season, m resigning from official positions in the club, said that as the club was well established he felt that the duties should be taken over by younger members. The following officers were elected: Patrons, Colonel C. C. Dowding and Air. E. M. Hutchinson; president, Mr. L. H. Maclean; vice-presidents, Messrs. *B. J. Holdsworth, R. F. Hutchinson, E. R. Beckett, H. Ruru, W. Brown, Whiti Jones, A. A. Fraser, M. J. Orr, and A. Donnellan; hon. auditor, the Rev. J. D. Hodgson; club captain. Mr. G. Gregory; vice-captain, Mr. T. M. Askew; hon. se-cretary and treasurer, Mr. G. S. Bridge; assistant secretary and treasurer, Mr. R. H. Brown; ladies’ captain, Mrs. R. F. Hutchinson; ladies' vice-captain, Miss L. Ruru; secretary, Mrs. H. O.Connell; general committee, Messrs. L. H. Maclean, G. Gregory, T. M. Askew, G. S. Bridge, R. 11. Brown, E. Bradley, Mesdames R. F. Hutchinson and H. O’Connell, and Miss L. Ruru; match committee, Messrs L. H. Maclean, G. Gregory, G. S. Bridge, and R. H. Brown. Tno season will be opened unofficially as soon as the fairways have been mown.
