EASTER COURSE

HOME GUARD N.C.O’S Officers and non-commissioned officers. of the Home Guard units in the Gisborne district have discussed with keen interest the prospect of organising a special training course for the Easter holidays, possibly including a full-scale encampment over a period of four days, from Thursday to Monday. Country members of the Home Guard are likely to find particular interest in the project, which as yet is in the embryo stage. Men training in the town area have better opportunities of getting together for special instruction, and may feel that a fullscale encampment is not necessary. Country trainees, on the other hand, have shown special keenness to bring their work up-to-date, and it has been suggested that regular week-end musters should be held for this purpose.

Sub-area commanders and company officers will be given an early opportunity to discuss the proposal, and should be able to indicate the degree of support likely to be forthcoming from their individual commands.
