(Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day

"I wish to emphasise that both of these were extremely dangerous, both from the fire and -personal contact point Of view, and in other places there have been deaths caused at shows in similar circumstances,” stated 'th'e engineer, Mr. C. J. Drewitt, nt the monthly meeting of the Wairna Eiectric-Powier Board yesterday, when drawing attention to two danger points in connection with the electric supply arrangements at the Wairoa County Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s redeem t annual Show.

The engineer Stated,that,he personally supervised all te'mpor'ary connections and left all safe and in order at 8.50 a.m. or. Show day. Returning at 11.30 a.m.. he fduhd that two adaptor connections had been made to the lighting system in the building which housed the cooking, flowers, and preserves exhibits

The engineer suggested that the society be Written to so that two or three proper service plugs cpiild be installed and that futiire supplies of energy be charged for by the society. He explained that the electrical extensions made were done by an outsider and the society was not responsible.

The board decided to write to the society, drawing attention to the position. ~
