BOWLS TOURNAMENT

, . The fortpightly . meeting of the' Manchester Unity .Oddfellows Loyal Gisborne Lodge, 6087, was held last eVehing, Miss A. J. Elliott, N.G., presiding over an average attendance.

A letter, of thanks was . received from the Druids Lodge thanking lady' members Of the Manchester Unity for assistance rendered at the last indoor bowls tournament. t

The social committee reported that owing to the Mangapiipa hall being engaged oh the night first agreed on for the next friendly so'erfetie's’ hi'door bjowls tournament, to be conducted bjy Manchester Unity; the dhtb Had been altered to February 20. Teams chosen to represent the lod'ge at th'e tournament Were:-—A. Team: MiSs Korte, Niveii, Wallen; Clark. B. Team: Rjliss Butterworth, Rothwell, Grigg, Michie. C. Team: Miite Cousins, Ellniers, Dunstan, Murray. . The secretary, Mr. C. H. Ambridge, P.D.G.M., reported that He had just received a visit from a very old member, Mr. T. J. Thomas, who had been living in Queensland. Reference was made to the action of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Wallen in making their home available for a function in honour of a lodge member, Miss E. Bickford, now Mrs. C. W. Bott, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to them.

Following supper at the close of the lodge meeting, members enjoyed indoor bowls during the next two hours.
