CANADIAN INCREASE 800 PER CENT ADVANCE (Reed. Jan. 13. 11.50 a.m.) OTTAWA, Jan. 11. It is announced that machine-tool production in Canada in 1940 was valued at £2,750.000, representing 800 per cent above the figure in 1939. A Government company has purchased or arranged for the purchase of tools to the value of £10,000,000 for essential war industries since its. inception.
