BUILDING IN AMERICA U.S.-NORWEGIAN CONCERN (Reed. Jan. 13, 11.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, Jan. 12. The Norwegian-American combine have taken, over the old Groton ship yards in Connecticut which have been closed since the world war, to build a £5,000,000 fleet of freighters for the Allies’ merchant marine. It is expected that construction on 9000-ton ships will start in a few weeks under the direction of American engineers.
