The New Zealand Women’s Society, presided over by the wife of the High Commissioner, Mr. W. J. Jordan, gave a luncheon at the Dorchester in honour of Lady Newall, wife of the Governor-General designate. Marshal of the Royal Air Force, Sir Cyril Newall. Over 100 were present, including Lady Cranborne, wife of the Dominions Secretary, and Mrs. B. C. Freyberg, wife of the commander of the N.Z.E.F.
