U.S. ARMS SPEED-UP
USE OF AUTO PLANTS AERO ENGINES AND PARTS (Reed. Jan. 13, 9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Jan. 12. Mr. C. Vinson, chairman of the House of Representatives Naval Affairs Committee, in investigating the lag in defence production, said he is introducing legislation requiring industry to curtail commercial production where and when necessary and to speed up armament works. Mr. Vinson mentioned the possibility of converting the automobile industry almost entirely to the manufacture of aeroplane engines or parts.
