UNTIL VICTORY
N.Z. PART IN WAR BURNHAM-TRAINED UNITS REVIEW IN CHRISTCHURCH GRIM STRUGGLE AHEAD (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. An impressive military spectacle was witnessed in Christchurch on Saturday, when Burnham-trained units of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, territorials, and the National Reserve paraded for a public ceremony in their honour in Crannier Square. In the march past at the conclusion of the ceremony the men presented an excellent bearing and showed a generally high standard of physique, which drew appreciation from the crowds at Cranmer Square and lining the route of the march through the city.
The Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Lee Martin, addressing the non on behalf of the Government, said that the inspiring news of the victories ained by their comrades over the Italians in the Western Desert would be a stimulant to the men in New Zealand and would make them eager to join their friends. The Minister said that there was a grim struggle ahead, but he was confident that the' Allies would win because the cause was just. New Zealanders would play their part in the achievement of victory in a fashion conforming with the traditions of the Dominion’s fighting men.
The Hon. A. Hamilton also addressed the men, saying that New Zealand was staying in the war until victory was .van.
