AUSTRALIA ASSAILED SIR T. BEECHAM AGAIN ABUSE ALLEGED (Reed. Nov. 26, 9 a.m.) TORONTO, Nov. 24. The English conductor, Sir Thomas Beecham. said that during, his Australian trip he found the people “living in a fool’s paradise—a cuckoo town of unreality.” Referring to his interviews which had caused controversy, he said: “Australia’s contribution to the world of arts is nil.
