INTER-HOUSE SPORTS

WAIROA CARNIVAL. MARRED BY RAIN HONORS TO M c GOLDRICK’S (Herald Correspondent.) For the second time rain marred the proceedings at the Wairoa Girls’ Interhouse Sport’s Club’s second annual carnival, but even the frequent showers failed to dampen the enthusiasm of the competitors and those who visited Lambton Square, Wairoa, to witness the events. The heavy rain experienced early, in the evening necessitated the postponement of the evening session, and the organisers decided to adjourn the session until next Saturday. Approximately 200 girls participated in the carnival, their sporting frocks and the efficiency of their marching, which was brought to such a high standard of perfection by weeks of arduous training, and other displays provided an exhibition which thrilled the onlookers.
