NO TERROR OF BOMBS

USED TO "DUD” SHELLS ADELAIDE, Sept. 22. A man who has exploded a million tons of shells and bombs is in charge of the Adelaide A.R.P. bomb disposal squad, now being formed. For 15 years after the last war Mr. J. W. Feehan cleared the Middle East of every “dud" bomb and all ammunition taken over from the enemy. On contract with the military authorities at 5s a ton he started on enormous British dumps of half a million tohs of ammunition at Kantara with 3000 men, mostly Arabs. He began work in 1920 and finished 15 years later. He was never once injured, though many natives were killed.
