DOCTOR OF LAWS

MR. O. C. MAZENGARB THESIS ON NEGLIGENCE (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Senate of New Zealand University, at a special meeting to-day, conferred the degree of Doctor of Laws on Mr. O. C. Mazengarb, head of the Wellington legal firm of Mazengarb, Hay and Mac Alister, for a highly praised thesis on the law of negligence and contributory negligence. The Chancellor, the Hon. J. A. Hanan, said that throughout the Empire there had not been a jthesis on that very difficult subject and a work of such distinction brought credit both to Mr. Mazengarb and the university which he was a graduate.
