PRIZE RAFFLE TICKET
LOST FOR THREE MONTHS OPPORTUNE DISCOVERY Found in the pocket of a pair of trousers which were about, to be discarded, the winning ticket in the motor car rattle drawn at (tie end of July has only just been produced, reports a Christchurch correspondent. The bolder is Mr. E. A. Robinson. Mr. Robinson explained that he bought the ticket in the street and pushed it into his trousers pocket, and thought no more about it. He picked up the trousers on Saturday with the intention of discarding them, but went through the pockets before doing so, in case there were any articles of any value in them. Then he discovered the ticket.
The car was the first prize in the raffle conducted tor the Canterbury provincial patriotic fund. Mr. Robinson solves a problem for the patriotic authorities, as the three months’ period in which the car could have been claimed would have expired at the end of this month. In the meantime, several claimants have come forward, all, however, without the vital ticket, although sure that the ticket they had thrown away or lost was the winning slip of paper.
