LOCKED PLANE LANDING DECORATION PLANNED DISCIPLINING ALSO (Reed. Oct. 16, 9 a.m.) CANBERRA, Oct. 16. The Federal Air Minister, Mr. A. W. Fadden, revealed last night that Aircraftsman Fuller, who successfully landed two locked planes following a collision in mid-air on September *3O, has been recommended for a decoration. At the same time he would be disciplined for having talked with the press, to representatives of which he gave interviews concerning his remarkable exploit. A message despatched from Sydney on September 30 stated that a Royal Australian Air Force pilot made a successful landing near Cowra with his aeroplane jammed on top of another air force machine. Air force officers could not recall a similar feat in the history of aviation. The machines collided in mid-air 1000 ft. up and. became locked firmly together. The pilot and observer of the bottom machine and the observer of the top machine baled out and landed safely by parachute. The pilot wSio eventually landed with the two aeroplanes still locked together jumped from the cockpit of the top machine after. gliding to a landing.
