ORIENT EVACUATION

AMERICAN NATIONALS SHIPS PROVIDED (Reed. Oct. 12,T0 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 15. The Matson liner Monterey is sailing for the Orient at noon on Tuesday next to help evacuate American nationals. The Mariposa from Australia will discharge her passengers at Honolulu, whence she will also go to the Orient on October 30. American-bound passengers are continuing from Honolulu aboard the Lurline. Passengers booked for Australia will be told they can have their passage money back or a passage in the next trip. Mail and freight are being held over for the next ship’.
