FORMER GERMAN SHIP TRANSPORT OF WAR (Reed. Oct. 16, 10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 15. The Maritime Commission has announced that it is lending the War Department the former German vessel Amerika, which was seized in 1917 and which has been laid up. Officials said the vessel was suitable for transport. It would be renamed San Francisco.
