Mr. James Henry Mclntosh, who was born in Mechanics’ Bay in December, 1853, and spent the whole of his life in Auckland, died at the week-end. His parents were among the original settlers who went to Auckland in the Duchess of Argyle in 1842, and his father became armourer at the Barrack Hill Fort, where Albert Park now is. Mr. Mclntosh entered the employment of the Auckland Gas Company as a young man and continued with the company until his retirement.
